Paris Auto Show: SsangYong unveils the C200 concept
One of the most surprising cars at this years Paris Auto Show is coming from Ssangyong Motor, the company owned by Chinese SAIC auto group.
The SsangYong company will premiere its latest C200 concept. The C200 concept cars foretells the future Ssangyong crossover vehicle, which will replace the f-ugly Kyron SUV.
It’s powered by a new 2.0L diesel engine with maximum output of 175 horsepower. The brand new diesel engine, which fully complies with the EURO V exhaust emissions regulations, is mated to the newely developed six-speed manual transmission.
The C200 concept crossover represents the first SsangYong vehicle to feature a FWD platform and monocoque construction. It also marks a new milestone in SsangYong’s mid- and long-term strategy to strengthen its line-up and increase customer choice. Hit the jump for more images.
Update: Ssangyong first planned to show this car in production form at the 2009 Frankfurt Car Show, but due to some economical problems and now being under bankruptcy protection all of the development has been delayed. Several weeks of strike action at the factory didn’t help either. Expect to see the C200 in all its glory during late 2010 as an MY11 model.
