Hyundai to offer an electric car in November
Hyundai plans to offer full-electric car in New Zealand by the end of November…
That’s right folks, Hyundai is going to launch a full electric car as early as in November, this year. The plug-in electric car will be based on the Getz and will be, according to Hyundai, the first electric vehicle to be offered for sale in any volumes in New Zealand.
The Getz electric car was developed by an engineer Ross Blade, and belongs to the retro-fit electric car segment, meaning that the batteries and electric motor are fitted to the car after the petrol engine is taken out.
Electric Getz will have a top speed of 120kmh, with a driving range between 120-200 km on a single charge, making it the perfect car for running around the town. Getz electric car is a zero emission vehicle and will be the first of a kind in the New Zealand market.
The first model has already been sold and it will be delivered by the end of November. Estimated production is expected to reach more than 200 units per year and will be located in New Zealand. [Source: Stuff.co.nz]

Well, the project is fully supported by Hyundai NZ, so there’s no reasons why they wouldn’t sell Getz through Hyundai dealerships.
Unfortunately, this is the NZ car only.
We will soon have more information available, so stop by at the Hyundai Blog to know more.
