Hyundai Releases i30N Performance Teaser Video
Hyundai are using their World Rally Championship outings as a platform to launch the “N” performance brand, with the i30 N being their first-ever true sports car.
You can now see the i30N shown in a teaser video!
Hyundai has put a lot of effort into doing well in the WRC, as it would be a great way for them to gain some real credibility in the performance vehicle market.
They don’t want to just race these cars, though, as the goal is to make some great hot hatches available to the consumer.
It’s a busy time for Hyundai as they look to expand their brand. As well as the N performance sub-brand, Hyundai has also announced that they will have a luxury Genesis sub-brand.
Hyundai made it clear that they wanted to have an N performance vehicle available to the buying public by the end of the year.
Time is running out, but it does look as though the i30N is close to being delivered.
The i30N will be going up against the likes of the Ford Focus ST and the VW Golf GTI as opposed to the higher end performance vehicles those automakers deliver.
That said, Hyundai is clearly stating that the N models they deliver will be track ready and performance-oriented.
The i30N video is just a teaser, which means that there really isn’t a lot to see, but what we can make out is a pretty subtle body kit for the i30N.
We also expect that it will come with a little boost under the hood, as well as having an improved suspension, brakes, and cooling setup. We also expect the interior to have a little bit more of a sports styling.
These are exciting ties for Hyundai, as it looks as though they are ready to go after the big boys in the luxury and performance markets.
This gives you an idea of just how much the Kia brand has grown in recent times, as pulling the same move a few short years ago would likely have been viewed as madness.
