Hyundai ix25 SUV Concept Unveiled At 2014 Beijing Auto Show
Hyundai has taken wraps off its all-new small SUV concept vehicle at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show!
Called ix25, the concept car previews Hyundai’s upcoming small-sized SUV, which is going to be launched in China during the second half of 2014!
The Hyundai ix25 concept SUV adopts the automaker’s latest styling philosophy, known as Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design!
This Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language was first introduced on the second-generation Genesis luxury sedan earlier this year and also incorporated to the just-recently unveiled 2015 Sonata sedan.

The vehicle will be produced at one of the autoamker’s manufacturing plants in China and is scheduled to go on sale there later this year!
“Hyundai has not reveald yet whether it plans to export the ix25 small SUV to other countries or not!”
New Platform, Powertrain Specs
The new ix25 small SUV is built on a new compact car platform, which is also being used on the second-generation Kia Soul crossover!
It has a wheelbase of 2,590mm!
The model is powered by Hyundai-Kia’s 2,0L Nu four-cylinder engine which generates more than 170 horsepower.
Exterior Dimensions:
- Length; 4,270 mm
- Width: 1,780mm
- Height: 1,630mm
Does the ix25 features an all-wheel-drive system?
This is something Korean automaker has yet to reveal. Considering its SUV-ish looks, we would expect the AWD system to be available (at least as an option)!
However, knowing that the model sitis on the same platform as Kia Soul, which offers on front-wheel-drive, the AWD is less likely to appear on the serial mass produced ix25 SUV!
Other Hyundai Premieres In Beijing
Hyundai has showed off a total of 18 production and concept cars at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
Also put on display alongside the all-new ix25 SUV concept car were the i20 WRC car, Sonata Hybrid and new Genesis luxury sedan.
