Hyundai’s ready for WRC return and the all-new i20 WRC rally-car proves that!
FIA World Rally Championship or better known as the WRC is getting another new member after the VW!
During the Paris Motor Show, Hyundai officially announced it is poised to return to rally-ing with an i20 rally-ready 3-door hatchback, based on the new i20 model!
The i20 WRC was put on display alongside new Hyundai i30 3-door, Santa Fe CUV, Hyundai fuel cell vehicle and several other Hyundai vehicles.
The WRC is one of the world’s toughest motorsport series and it offers the most technologically diverse challenge for an automotive manufacturer, says Hyundai.
A car that participates in WRC must be engineered to overcome the extreme terrains and weather conditions. It also has to face many potent rivals, in this case, the i20 WRC will compete against Ford Fiesta WRC, Mini, new VW Polo R, as well as Championship winning Citroen DS3.
Hyundai acknowledges that the World Rally Championship is recognized as one of the most dramatic sporting series on the globe, filled with excitement and and dynamism. Therefore Hyundai hopes the spectators and rally fans will see the participation of the brand as a demonstration of Hyundai’s engineering excellence and durability.
