Hyundai i20 Active (Cross Variant) Fully Exposed
The long-awaited Hyundai i20 cross model has been spied testing fully undisguised for the very first time!
Spied in India, the more rugged variant of the i20 5-door hatchback will not be called “cross” as previously speculated, but will adopt an “Active” nameplate.
The very-first pics of the new Hyundai i20 Active, which have been published at Twitter today, reveal the new look of the newcomer.
Compared to the current i20 hatchback, the Active model incorporates a restyled front end with new projector headlights, larger fog-lamps and new lower protective element for the bumper.
Back at rear, the spied i20 Active model sports a revised bumper with circular reflector elements, sharp roof spoiler, roof rails, plastic body enrichment and silver skid plate.
The vehicle also has an increased ground clearance that’s marginally higher than the hatchback’s 170 mm.
Even though, the i20 Active looks like a crossover vehicle, the model doesn’t offer an all-wheel-drive system!
i20 Active Launch Date
The brand new i20 Active is scheduled to go on sale in India next month.
According to latest reports, the i20 Active will also be exported to other countries.
There are no official details about the vehicle’s engine range at this point, but engines will likely be carried over from the standard i20 5-door hatchback, which means diesel and gasoline units will be available.
The vehicle here features a 90-horsepower 1,4L CRDI diesel engine, but expect the model to be also offered with the 1.2L petrol engine that generates around 100 horsepower. (Photo source: Abhijeet Twitter)
