Hyundai Veloster 2012 price
Hyundai announces pricing for the US-specs Veloster Coupe 2012 (Model Year), which goes on sale this fall!
Hyundai Motor America has finally announced pricing on the new 2012 Hyundai Veloster coupe. The long-anticipated entry-level coupe will go on sale in the States at the beginning of next month with a starting price tag of $17.300. Equipped with 6-speed manual transmission, the Veloster achieves 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on highways (32 mpg combined).
When equipped with Hyundai’s all-new 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (called EcoShift Dual-Clutch Transmission), the all-new Veloster delivers 29 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on highway! Pricing for the DCT-equipped Veloster begin at $18.550!
Power for the Veloster comes from a 1.6L GDI four-cylinder engine which features direct-injection technology for improved dynamic performance and better gas mileage. The 1.6L unit generates segment-leading 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque.
The 2012 Veloster coupe has an exceptional level of standard safety features including ESC with TCS and Vehicle Stability Management, ABS with EBD and four-wheel disc brakes, TPMS and six airbags. There’s also standard air conditioning, seven-inch high resolution touchscreen LCD, audio system with six speakers, iPod/USB/video auxiliary input jacks and many others.
Note: Neither of the above-mentioned prices for the 2012 Veloster include a freight charge! Shipping costs additional $760!

With the two option packages (Style and Technology) being $2000 a piece, MSRP easily slip pass $23k for those looking for the DCT models. A bit expensive for a 138HP niche vehicle but panoramic roof does look nice although the additional 150lb+ weight leaves a lot to be desired.
Any mention if the Veloster will have an emergency spare tire and jack or the mini air-compressor and a can of tire sealant for U.S. Spec models?
By undercutting its chief rival, the CR-Z, Hyundai should easily outsell the Honda.
Can’t wait for a turbocharged model though.
The recall announce today on the CR-Z should help matters even more, I’d still take the Veloster in a heartbeat!
@John – no one’s immune to recalls – Hyundai recently recalled 44K Sonata’s.
