Hyundai sales October 2011
Hyundai Motor America announces record October sales. In addition, the carmaker shatters its all-time sales record set year-end 2010!
Hyundai announced it sold 52.402 new cars and crossover vehicles in October. The number represents a 23 percent increase over the sales recorded during the same month a year ago. Hyundai’s year-to-date sales figures of 545.316 shattered the full year sales record of 538.228 set in 2010.
Leading Hyundai sales last month were the U.S.-assembled Sonata and Elantra sedans with 18.192 and 13.000 units sold, respectively. The all-new Elantra sedan saw its sales increase 37 percent over the same month a year ago, while Sonata registered a 10 percent increase in sales.
Hyundai Accent sales were down slightly from a year ago. New Accents are really just starting to get to Hyundai dealerships, so expect the vehicle to post better numbers once inventory gets better. Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was the Korean automaker’s number-four-selling vehicle with a total of 5.199 units sold in October 2011.
The popular Tucson compact crossover recorded sales of 3.777 units and was closely followed by a brand-new Hyundai Veloster 3-door coupe – a star of the October 2011′s sales chart. Hyundai sold more than 3.700 units of 2012 Veloster in its first full month on the market! This must be above all initial expectations.
Meanwhile, sales of Hyundai’s Genesis sedan and Genesis Coupe rose 10 percent to 2.602 units from 2.375 units in October 2010.
Hyundai sales by model – October 2011:

13,000 Elantra’s and 18,000 Sonata’s isn’t all that much, considering the Focus and Cruze have been selling over 20k a month, while the Camry sells a whopping 30k a month and Nissan shifts 23k Altimas..
I think the reason why Accent was sold less than last October is because it’s lost its potential customers to Veloster. It’s interesting to see Santa Fe doing so well despite its long tenure.
How can they sell more santa fe than new tucson , may be there is mistake in the names .
I mean the santa fe is old by now and has strong sales , very interesting .
Uhm, not in Oct. 11, they didn’t. Camry just squeaked past 22K and Altima was a tad short of that. Cruze did about 14.3K and Focus did not quite 12.4K. So it wasn’t a bad month at all.
In fact, the only months that Camry has crested 30K for 2011 are March, April, July, and August.
The Azera replacement can’t come soon enough!
The Kia Optima is outselling the Hyundai Sonata? It is kinda odd that the Optima has standard luxury features that the Sonata doesn’t even offer as options.
^No, the Optima’s not nearly outselling the Sonata
Marc said you can’t get HID headlights on a Sonata at any price but HIDs are now standard on all 2012 Optimas?
