Hyundai Rohens goes on sale in China today
Hyundai Genesis sedan has had a successful launch in South Korea where the dealers can’t keep up with the demand and its recent launch in the USA points out that the Genesis could be a hit on American car market as well.
That Hyundai continues with its overseas Genesis expansion, shows this latest news coming from China, where Genesis sedan just made its official sales debut. Sporty Genesis sedan was rebadged to Rohens and went on sale today with prices ranging from 398,000 yuan (about $58,200) to 520,000 yuan (about $76,000).
Initially, Hyundai planned to put the car on sale as early as July, but was then postponed to September due to Chinas implementation of consumption tax on large-sized, luxury cars.
Hyundai Rohens will be available with with two six-cylinder engines, generating 262 and 290 horsepower. Both V6 engines will be mated to the six-speed automatic transmission, while the V8 Tau engine, which will be available later in the year, will be mated to the 6-speed ZF transmission.
The automaker has not released any projected sales numbers for the rest of this year, but did provide a plan to sell 3000 units of the Rohens sedan at China market in the 2009.
