Hyundai HND-9 Concept Car Previews Redesigned Genesis Coupe
Hyundai Motor Company unveiled a striking 2-door concept coupe, called HND-9!
The carmaker’s luxury sports coupe concept, which hints at the second-generation Genesis Coupe (2014 or 2015 Model Year), has been put on display at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show!
Styled at Hyundai’s research and development center in Namyang, Korea, the firm’s latest concept car measures 4,695mm long, 1,890mm wide, 1,340mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,860mm.
The eye-catching HND-9 sports car study incorporates dramatic exterior styling which represents an evolution of the well-known “Fluidic Sculpture” design philosophy which has been implemented to all latest production Hyundai models.
HND-9 Exterior, Interior Design
The all-new Hyundai HND-9 features a long hood, wide Hyundai hexagonal signatures grille, sleek side character lines and Lamborghini-like butterfly doors.
Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates sculptural rear combination lamps, as well as futuristic dual tailpipes placed on each side of the rear bumper. Twenty-two inch alloy wheels complete the futuristic look of the HND-9 sports coupe concept.
Inside, the concept car offers a driver-oriented cockpit. The luxurious interior, which features a plethora of high-tech features, was designed to offer functionality and optimized for dynamic driving.
According to Hyundai, the HND-9 is fitted with sporty seats which project different colors depending on the angle these are seen from.
Hyundai Engine Specs
The HND-9 sports coupe concept sits on a rear-wheel-drive platform, which will be used as a base for the forth-coming second-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
Under the hood of the HND-9 concept lies a highly-advanced 3,3L T-GDI trubocharged engine with a maximum output of 370 horsepower.
Mated to the highly-potent V6 engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends the power from the engine to the rear-wheels.
