2015 Genesis Sports Sedan Spy Video, Release Date
A recent spy video of the upcoming 2015 Hyundai Genesis shows that this looks like a sports sedan to be reckoned with.
The video was shoe while the car was being put through its paces at the Nürburgring test center, which is where the car was extensively developed for the first time in Hyundai’s history.
The video shows the prototype coming out of the gate hard and taking the first corner with the tires and engine screaming.
The car shows some real pace as it hits all the carousels on the course, displaying some sideways action in the process.
The improved dynamics and handling are essential if the Genesis hopes to compete with rivals like the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E Class.
That said, it also serves as a way to differentiate the Genesis from the luxurious Equus, which is built for comfort rather than speed.
All-Wheel-Drive Platform
It’s believed that a revised version of the previous models real wheel drive platform will underpin the new release.
Those revisions will include all-wheel-drive system (an Audi all road model is seen testing alongside it) and new eight-speed automatic transmission.
The engines are expected to come in both V6 and V8 options, with output ranging between 333 and 429 horsepower.
The interior is expected to come with a fine selection of premium materials, as well as climate control AC, and technological advancements.
The latter is likely to include the next-generation Blue Link telematics and infotainment system, which includes voice activation from Apple Siri, as well as Eyes Free functionality and Google Maps for navigation.
2015 Genesis Release Date
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is expected to make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January of 2014, and should be in showrooms shortly after.
It will likely be another two years before the Hyundai Genesis Coupe arrives, which is expected to fall in line with the concept version. [Source: Youtube]
