Quick Look At The Upcoming 2018 Hyundai Cars, SUVs, Trucks And Future Models
Hyundai’s rise to the top in the automotive world has been swift, and much of their success has to do with their ability to continually develop better vehicles.
Over the last few years, much of the focus has been on the design front, with seemingly little time devoted to totally new models.
Now that they have their line-up right where it needs to be, we can expect to see Hyundai deliver two new models per year moving forward.
The goal with these new releases will be to once again deliver vehicles that excel in quality of ride and handling, as well as being powered by great engines and state of the at technology.
There is also a push to raise brand perception, which they have done with the creation of the Genesis luxury sub-brand.
There is a lot going on in the world of Hyundai, so let’s take a closer look at what we can expect from them in the near future.
2018 Hyundai models
Accent – The 2018 model year will see the Accent subcompact get a total makeover, which will include the newest styling language, as well as updated technology and safety features. There is no official US release date for the 2018 Accent available at this point, but we would expect that it may arrive before the end of 2017.
Elantra – Don’t expect to see any changes to the 2018 Elantra 4-door sedan, as it underwent a full redesign already. What you can expect, though is a 2018 Elantra GT version that will be influenced by the European i30 model.
Ioniq – The 2018 model year should see the arrival of the plug-in hybrid variant, the third of the three Ioniq models being made available. The 2018 Ioniq plug-in version is expected to come with about 25 miles of all-electric range, and there is also word that the all electric 2018 Ioniq EV may get a new battery that would extend the total driving range from 110 miles to 200.
Azera – The premium sedan is set for a total makeover that will include an updated exterior design and powertrain line-up. It is not known at this point when Hyundai plans to launch the 2018 Azera in US. More details about this as we get them.
Hyundai small crossover – The new small SUV has already been spotted being put through its paces in the US. It has not yet been named, and no specs revealed, but we can expect the small Hyundai SUV model to hit the US market in the second half of next year.
Sonata – Expect a facelift for Hyundai’s top-selling sedan in the US market. Spy shots of a heavily camouflaged 2018 Hyundai Sonata prototype have already been spotted out and about. There are no major changes expected for both Sonata hybrid variants.
Santa Fe – There is a good chance that the large Hyundai SUV will get some sort of makeover. It received a mid-cycle refresh this year, so the changes here could be on a larger scale.
Santa Cruz Pick-Up – While not conformed yet, the highly anticipated Hyundai pick-up truck is expected to hit the market in 2018.
We will keep you up to date on all of these future Hyundai models in the coming weeks and months.
