Hyundai Elantra named Best Family Car Of 2012
Hyundai Elantra named the “Best Family Car Of 2012” by Edmunds.com!
While most people choose a car based on a particular style or design that appeals to them, there are others who have to take in much more important factors.
Families on a tight budget are particularly choosy when it comes to buying a car, with safety, price, and fuel efficiency all playing a major part in the final decision.
With that in mind, those folks rely on trusted sources like Edmunds.com and Parent’s Magazine to help them make that decision.
Both of those sources have agreed that the 2012 Hyundai Elantra is the Best Family Car of 2012, with the full results due to be included in the July issue of Parent’s magazine.
Scott Oldham, editor in chief, Edmunds.com commented that the Hyundai Elantra made it to the top of the list thanks to a number of different factors.

While commending the fuel-efficient engine, price and safety features, he was also quick to point out that the overall design of the Elantra helped sway the decision in Hyundai’s favor.
This is the fifth straight year that Parent’s magazine and Edmunds.com have collaborated to come up with a winner.
They judged hundreds of different vehicles, with the main focus being on safety and reliability. Performance also played a part in their decision, with interior, exterior, and family-friendly features all figuring heavily in the judging process.
Every car that made it onto the final list featured such safety items as antilock brakes, electronic stability control, as well as at least 6 air bags.
A record number of vehicles on the list (14), including the Elantra sedan , also had the honor of earning a “Top Safety Pick” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Vehicles.
Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America said that safety features were an incredibly important part of every vehicle that rolls off the Hyundai production line.
He went on to say that the air bags, braking package, and electronic stability control made the Elantra an ideal car for parents, as well as for any other consumer that put safety at the top of their list of requirements.
The Hyundai Elantra is becoming used to receiving these sorts of platitudes, especially since becoming the 2012 North American Car of the Year.
Starting at low $16,000, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra has set the bar high in the compact sedan category. There are few other vehicles can that can match the power of the all-new 1.8L “Nu” engine or the 40mpg highway fuel economy.
Combine that with the safety features listed above and the stunning fluidic sculpture design and you have a car that is #1 in its category for a reason.
