Hyundai Elantra Coupe 2013 -Model Year makes its official premiere at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Here are some images of the hot-looking two-door coupe.
There may be a no more nerve-wracking, or exciting, time for an automaker than when they choose to unveil their new creations to the world.
Hyundai has been riding a wave of sales and critical success for the past two years, so you would have to imagine that they were in a fairly confident mood when they revealed the 2013 Elantra Coupe at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this week.
The Elantra has always been a key member of the Hyundai line-up, and the addition of the two-door coupe will really appeal to Hyundai lovers looking for a youthful, sporty new car.
The addition of the coupe to the 2013 Hyundai Elantra family is a great idea, and Hyundai have gone out of their way to ensure that the new model maintains many of the elements that made the Elantra sedan such a sales success.
That includes the same 1.8L in-line four-cylinder, 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet engine that the coupe sports. That gives the car a slight edge in fuel efficiency when compared to the Honda Civic or other rivlas.
The exterior design of the Hyundai Elantra Coupe 2013 MY is a continuation of the “Fluidic Sculpture” theme that the automaker continues to evolve with each new release.
On the inside the Elantra coupe sports an eco-efficient powertrain, plus plenty of legroom that you might not expect to find in a sporty two-door. There are also a ton of features included, which is what we are coming to expect whenever we talk about a Hyundai vehicle.
That includes a better fuel efficiency and a longer wheelbase than the rival Civic, whilst also including such cool features as touchscreen navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a Proximity-key entry with electronic push-button start.
The all-new Elantra Coupe may borrow a lot of elements from the Elantra sedan, but it also has a number of features that clearly put it in the sporty class. The Elantra Coupe SE, which is the top spec model, in particular gets some great additions, such as 17-inch rims and a rear lip spoiler design.
It will also receive a superior suspension tuning to accommodate the lower profile tires, and both the basic GS and the SE will come in 7 cool colors.
Hyundai Elantra Coupe 2013 is the third entry in Hyundai’s 7/11 campaign where they will introduce 7 new vehicles in 11 months. The 2013 Veloster Turbo and Genesis Coupe were the first two, and with 4 more to come, it’s a very exciting time for car consumers who love the Hyundai brand.
