As it appears, the 2016 Elantra redesign will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show, which kicks off in the fourth quarter of the year.
Things we know about the 2016 Elantra sedan
Release date: Hyundai is all set to take the wraps off the Elantra redesign before the end of this year. The exact official on-sale date is not known at this point, however, we expect the fully redesigned Elantra sedan to hit the dealers shortly after its inaugural US-market launch.
Codename: Hyundai has been developing the next-generation 2016 Elantra model under the AD internal codename.
Types: 2016 Elantra will continue to be offered as a 4-door sedan. The 2-door coupe is under question, while the 5-door model will continue as the GT hatchback (based on the Euro-market i30 hatch).
Engines: By now, the vehicle has been offered with a choice of gasoline and diesel engines (depending on market), however, starting from 2016, the model will also be available as an all-electric car, as well as a hybrid-electric car.
Production: as previously, the vehicle will be built at Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in the USA.

The question is whether the new Elantra will continue with its eye-catching exterior styling of the current model, or will it take a step back to the more conservative side (like the new Sonata midsize sedan)?
Answer: it seems the sportier exterior styling will win out!
