The US-specs 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe is available with two engines: 2.4L four-cylinder and 3.5L V6.

The popular Hyundai Santa Fe 2011 comes standard with Hyundai’s second-generation Theta four-cylinder gasoline engine. The Theta II powerplant, which is rated at 175 horsepower and 169 lb.-ft. of torque, is an all-aluminum, 16-valve engine which features continuously variable valve timing -CVVT technology on both camshafts and a Variable Intake System -VIS for better engine breathing, revealed Hyundai.

The other engine also available in the 2011 Santa Fe SUV is the 3.5L Lambda II V6 engine which packs impressive 276 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of maximum torque. Mileage figures estimated for V6-powered Santa Fe SUVs are 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway (better than Ford Edge and Chevrolet Equinox V6).

To help the 2011 Santa Fe owners get the most out of their vehicles, Hyundai added a fuel economy indicator, which displays a green light on the instrument panel to indicate when driving habits are contributing to good fuel economy.
