2017 Hyundai Accent Redesign Release Date, News & Rumors
Thanks to our friends from South Korea, we can show you a set of 2017 Hyundai Accent spy shots showcasing a heavily-disguised 4-door sedan prototype!
These are the very-first spy pictures of the Accent redesign, which will hit the markets worldwide in the second half of this year.
The 2017 Hyundai Accent release date has yet to be officially announced, but we are pretty sure the automaker will launch the popular sub-compact car at one of the upcoming auto shows (Los Angeles auto show is a likely candidate!).
Built upon the same platform as the Euro-market Hyundai i20, the upcoming Accent 2017 – model year – will boast a Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 styling DNA, resulting in a slightly more angular exterior design and sharper lines across entire body.
Hidden by heavy camouflage (but already visible at the spy photos) is a new prominent chrome hexagonal signature grille which reminds us of that applied to the just-recently unveiled 2017 Elantra 4-door sedan.
At first glance, the new Hyundai Accent also seems to be a little wider and lower than the current model and boasts a little sportier appearance, too.
Engines, specifications, hybrid
It remains to be seen what kind of powertrain the new Hyundai Accent is going to adopt, but we expect to see some cool technology fitted under the hood.
Expect to see the 1,6L GDI gasoline engine appear as a base, entry level offering, coupled to the 6-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai will also offer the next-generation Accent with either a 1,0L or 1,2L turbo engine and 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
Inaddition, the model will also be offered with a 1,6L CRDI diesel engine, albeit not in the United States.
On top of all, Hyundai will also offer a Hyundai Accent hybrid (rumor). Official specs and details on the hybrid powertrain remain scarce at this point.
2017 Hyundai Accent release date
As we mentioned above, the 2017 Hyundai Accent will be released later this year, with the official on sale date yet to be announced.
Sources close to Hyundai have confirmed that the fully redesigned Accent sedan is scheduled to hit the dealerships shortly after its official premiere. sometimes in the second half of this year.
We will keep you updated on latest Accent 2017 news and rumors, so stay tuned!
