2012 Hyundai Accent 5-Door Hatchback
The all-new 2012 Hyundai Accent 5-door hatchback makes its official public premiere at this year’s auto show in New York!
Hyundai Motor Company is celebrating the US-market premiere of its brand-new 2012 Accent 5-door hatchback, which received a complete makeover for the 2012 model year.
With the all-new 2012 Accent, Hyundai redefines consumer’s expectations in the subcompact car segment by offering the upscale-look, highly advanced powertrain technology, up-to-date safety equipment and best-in-segment fuel economy ratings.
Under the hood, the 2012 Hyundai Accent features an all-aluminum 1.6L Gamma four-cylinder engine, which uses latest engine technology to achieve a segment leading horsepower rating and class-leading fuel economy.
The highly-advanced 1,6L GDI engine generates 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of maximum torque and achieves 30 mpg in the city or 40 mpg on highway. It can be mated to either a six-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Available as a 5-door hatchabck or 4-door sedan, the new model offers a wide selection of exterior colors: Century White, Mocha Bronze, Marathon Blue, Ironman Silver, Ultra Black, Boston Red, Clearwater Blue, Electrolyte Green and Cyclone Gray.
There are three trim levels available, a four-door GLS, five-door GS, and five-door SE. The 2012 Hyundai Accent SE gets a roof-mounted spoiler, vertical taillights and standard 16-inch alloy-wheels.
It is also equiped with an electronic power steering wheel, which provides sportier feel, a set of fog lamps, Piano black accent trim, cruise control, and Bluetooth. Standard features on all Hyundai Accent models include six-airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and front-seat active head restraints.
While Hyundai has yet to release details on full pricing the base 2012 Hyundai Accent 4-door sedan will start at $13.205, while the top-of-the-range Hyundai Accent SE 5-door hatchback will cost $17.555. According to Hyundai, the 2012 Hyundai Accent sales will commence next month (May 2011).
