2012 Hyundai Veloster Turbo release date

The all-new 2012 Hyundai Veloster Turbo to offer new 208-horsepower 1,6L turbo engine!

Remember when Hyundai released a 2011 Sonata Turbo late last year? During the car’s official unveiling ceremony, Hyundai also revealed it soon plans to expand its current powertrain line-up with more turbocharged engines.

Less than six months later, we are bringing you exclusive news about Hyundai’s new 1,6L Turbo GDI engine, which will make its official premiere at the 2011 Seoul Auto Show in April.

The 1.6L direct-injection turbo engine is expected to generate 208 horsepower at at 6,000 rpm! The all-new four-cylinder turbo unit will be mated to the automaker’s dual clutch automatic transmission -DCT with six speeds.

The latest turbo engine in the Hyundai range will be first applied to the 2012 Hyundai Veloster sports coupe, a vehicle that made its official worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year.

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster release date has yet to be officially announced, but you can expect the first cars to start hitting Hyundai dealerships in the second quarter of the year. The “turbo” model should appear in the showrooms during the first half of 2012, if not earlier.

Within a year or two, the same 1,6L Turbo engine will also find its way under the hood of the next-generation Hyundai i30 and Kia cee’d hatchbacks which are both slated to undergo a complete makeover next year. Also rumored to receive the 208-horsepower 1,6L turbo engine is the upcoming Hyundai Elantra Coupe!
