The all-new 2012 Hyundai Grandeur HG teased ahead of its official January 2011 launch!

Earlier today, Hyundai Motor Company released some early images of its all-new Grandeur GH near-luxury sedan. Known as Azera in the States and several other International markets, the all-new Grandeur replaces the fourth generation model which was brought to the market back in 2005.

According to Hyundai, the all-new Grandeur near-luxury sedan was developed under the concept of harmonizing tradition and state-of-the-art powertrain technology. As a result, the new model is expected to set a new standard for premium large sedans.

As evident form the official renderings, the 2012 Grandeur GH adopted automaker’s latest “fluidic sculpture” form language. The front fascia of the car features large chrome grille and a distinctive set of headlamps featuring LED technology. The side part consists of elegant and flowing lines, while at rear-end of the 2012 Grandeur GH boasts a futuristic look through stylish LED lamps and the voluminous wide rear bumper. Overall, the all-new Grandeur looks a lot more stylish and modern than the model it replaces.

Hyundai did not provide any additional information about the vehicle, but our sources close to Hyundai revealed us some details about the Grandeur’s powertrain options. In Korea, the all-new Grandeur will be available with four powerful engines starting with 2.4L GDI four-cylinder engine, packing 201 horsepower and 3.0L GDI with 262 horsepower. A more potent 3.3L GDI V6 will generate respectable 286 horsepower. In addition, there will also be a 230-horsepower 3.0L Liquefied Petroleum Injected -LPI engine available.

For a larger car, it looks good.

It looks waaay better than the current generation Grandeur/Azera. What I noticed is the 2012 model on the images here features similar fog lights as 2011 Sonata sedan.

Hmmm…not feeling the front. Still seems like Hyundai isn’t sure about their common grille design language. Look at all the new Kia’s for example: they all have a “family” look to them. Hyundai is still all over the place. One moment you think they settled on the hexigon grill, next moment they go back to “melted” Sonata front.

Other than that the car looks fantastic in illustration form.

love this way better than the sonata.. genesis needs to update then.. so many models in the hyundai line though..

i guess hyundai is just trying to differentiate models within the brand with the lower end models getting the hexagonal grille and the higher end models receiving a more traditional one. the concave surfaces below the character lines are very interesting and the chrome strip extending to the headlights seems to be integrated better in this design compared to the sonata. looking forward to seeing it in person… although that possibility is low here in australia – i struggle to spot any current gen grandeur/azeras.

  6. Hey, the car looks very fresh and new. Never hoped these typo vehicles from Hyundai. Any idea of pricing???
