2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0L Turbo prices announced
Hyundai Motor America announces pricing for its 2011 Sonata Turbo, which features a 274-horsepower GDI 2.0L four-cylinder engine under its hood.
Hyundai is expanding its 2011 Sonata model line-up by introducing the 274-horsepower 2.0L Sonata Turbo. The 2011 Sonata Turbo is the very-first Hyundai vehicle on the US soil that packs the automaker’s new four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engine. It produces 274 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque across a broad rpm range (1.750 rpm to 4.500 rpm) and delievers 33 mpg highway and 22 mpg in the city.
The all-new 2.0 Turbo four-cylinder engine incorporates a twin-scroll turbocharger that, when combined with the gasoline direct injection -GDI technology, results in crisp, responsive power delivery. The 2.0 Turbo engine is available on the 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE and Limited trim levels.
Prices for the 2011 Sonata 2.0L Turbo start at $21.145 for the 2011 Sonata SE 2.0 Turbo and $27.045 for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0L Turbo Limited. Pricing exclude destination charge of $720. Read more about the 2011 Sonata 2.0T pricing in the official press release below.
Official press release:
Hyundai Motor America has announced pricing for its all-new Sonata Turbo, starting at $24,145 MSRP for the Sonata SE 2.0T and $27,045 for the Sonata Limited 2.0T.
“When we first showed the Sonata Turbo earlier this year, we promised more horsepower than our V6 competitors, with great four-cylinder fuel economy, all for under $25,000,” said John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO.
“With the introduction of the Sonata 2.0T, we’re delivering on all three of those commitments, with an MSRP of just $24,145 for an incredibly well-equipped Sonata 2.0T SE. The new Sonata lineup demonstrates what Hyundai’s Blue Drive approach to fuel economy leadership is all about – game-changing products with industry-leading fuel efficiency that aren’t compromises or low-volume ‘special-fuel-economy’ marketing ploys.”
With the addition of the all-new 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged GDI engine, the new 2011 Sonata offers an unprecedented combination of segment-leading fuel efficiency and power, with 33 mpg highway and 274 horsepower. Remarkably, the Sonata 2.0T delivers these industry-leading benchmarks on regular fuel. Turbocharging and GDI are key elements of Blue Drive, the company’s environmental initiative to lead the industry in fuel efficiency.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine produces 274 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque from 1750-4500 rpm with regular fuel, while delivering 22 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. Hyundai’s 2.0T engine features a twin-scroll turbocharger that, when combined with the GDI system, results in crisp, responsive power delivery. Twin-scroll turbochargers have traditionally been used on more expensive high performance engines, but as with direct injection, Hyundai has chosen once again to apply this efficient technology in high volume to its most popular model.
The 2.0T engine will be available on the 2011 Sonata SE and Limited trim level, with the 2.0T SE adding an upgraded fully automatic temperature control system, and the Limited adding the SE’s 18-inch hyper silver alloy wheels, dual exhaust, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. MSRPs excludes destination charge of $720. [Source: Hyundai]

no 6 speed manual transmission in Canadian model … shame!
doesn’t matter…it’s a family sedan, not a sports car. (although it would be cool if it had one) Atleast it gets the paddle shifters and improved hp and torque.
agree with attaboy… absence of a 6speed M/T is quite disheartening in otherwise a fine car.
Wow, they are going to sell a ton of these.
There is practically no tradeoff for MPGs and performance. If this were offered with a six speed and LSD it would without a doubt be my next vehicle.
I guess the sonata is a great car but i bought one that had been sabatoged at the factory or the dealership which is capital hyundai in mongomery al. They said i did it but that is a very foolish statement. I paid 15.0000 dollars of my hard worked for money down on this car. I had problems with this car the night i drove it off of the carlot. They would not help me out ANY.It ended up costing me about 4.0000 dollars the get this car fixed A VERY BAD DEAL.This was the very first brand new car i havr ever bought and i am 50 years old.Once again this is a VERY BAD AND SAD DEAL.I’m not saying not to by one but i would not buy a piece of gum from CAPITOL HYUNDAI in montgomery
