2011 Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan gets 10 more horsepower and standard Technology Package
The 2011 Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan receives standard Technology Package and 10 more horsepower for new model year.
Hyundai announced it has added more content and a 10 more ponies to its Genesis premium sedan. The 2011 Hyundai Genesis, equipped with 4.6L V8 engine, now packs 385 horsepower on premium unleaded fuel (or 378 on regular fuel). According to Hyundai Motor America, the V8 powered 2011 Genesis luxury sedan propels from zero to 60 miles per hour in only 5,3 seconds – that’s 0,4 second better than 2010 Genesis sedan!
The award-winning 4.6L V8 Tau engine delivers more horsepower and better torque than other V8 engines found on luxury sedans, such as Audi A8 or Lexus GS460. In addition the V8 Tau also delivers more hp per liter than any of these V8 competitors!
For the 2011 model year, Hyundai has further enhanced the astonishing list of standard equipment in the Genesis 4.6 by adding more premium features as standard equipment. The 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 is now available with features that were previously optional.
Those include smart cruise control, heated and cooled driver seat, Lexicon surround-sound audio system with added 17 speakers, navigation System featuring the intuitive Driver Information System (DIS) with 8-inch screen, electronic parking brake, parking assistance system, adaptive front lighting system, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights and rear-view camera and parking sensors at front and rear.
The 2011 Genesis 3.8 retains the same content as the 2010 Genesis luxury sedan, and great starting price of $33,000, while the 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 now starts at $43.000 (excluding freight). [Source: Hyundai]

So if I understand correctly:
They increased the price from $40,000 to $43,000 on the Genesis 4.6 (a three thousand dollar increase), but made those optional features standard. And now there’s no choice offered but get a 4.6 V8 engine and have features you may not want or need.
Dang. That 4.6′er must be a hot seller if the price is jumping that much.
well, Ive been looking into getting on e of those and Ive learned from surfing the owners forums that anybody buying a v8 was getting one with a tech package. and the price was the same, 43k for a v8+tech package. And huyndai just made it the standard version for 43k.
as far as i’ve seen, these v8+techs are going for just under 40 + tax/fees.
I am wondering if the thing rides worth a hoot. The Azera and previous Genesis models rode like a covered wagon. I still feel every tiny bump, pebble, expansion joint that any highway has to offer.
Yes, changed tires etc. Still rides like crap.
I personally love my 4.6. I bought the 2010 and it rides beautifully. The suspension is too soft in my opinion, but I love to go fast and it feels sloshy around corners. But the 4.6 was supposed to get a supercharger this year but they did away with the idea, itd be nice if hyundai offered it as a seperate upgrade that consumers could purchase.
I have a 2011 Genesis 4.6, and had a 2009 Genesis 4.6. The 2011 feels much more powerful than just ten horsepower. Seems to me that it takes substantially more than ten horsepower to shave 0.4 sec. off 0-60 time. My guess is that it is differential is between 20 and 30 hp.
2011 Genesis with 4.6 engine comes to stop from 60mph in about 124 feet which is an average distance and it yields fuel economy of 17mpg in the city, 25mpg on highway, and 20 mpg in combined driving.
