US News Media Group names 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring the Best Wagon For The Money!

Even when car buying seems to be picking up since the global economic crunch, any American who is planning to purchase a new car wants to make sure to get his money’s worth. With Hyundai’s most recent accolade, more and more car buyers are more likely to form a cue to get a Hyundai.

The US News Media Group award has recently named a Hyundai in its “Best Car for the Money” awards, specifically the Elantra Touring as “Best Wagon for the Money.” The best cars were chosen both for their performance and average ownership costs.

US News Media Group talks about the 2011 Elantra Touring and explained that “value need not come at the expense of quality and style in the 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring. With a chic European-inspired design and cargo space rivaling some mid-size SUVs, the Elantra Touring is a respectable compact wagon choice no matter your budget.”
The Media Group is known for its regular publication of a list of  “America’s Best”, which aims to educate American consumers in finding the best colleges, graduate schools, mutual funds, travel destinations, hospitals and, of course, automobiles, among others.

With so many cars out there in the market from a number of competitive car brands and manufacturers, how can US News possibly come up with a reliable list of best cars? This is how they do it.

US News compare each car to its competitors in the same category. There are 18 categories: subcompact, compact, upscale compact, hatchback, midsize, family sedan, upscale sedan, hybrid, sports, minivan, wagon, compact crossover, midsize crossover, luxury compact crossover, luxury midsize crossover, full size SUV, compact truck and full size truck. US News asks hundreds of professional critics about what they can say about each car.

The cars are then ranked based on the expert opinions. To finally come up with the Best Cars in each category, the Media Group combines its 2011 car rankings with TrueCar.com’s total cost of ownership data.

The 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring is simply the best and most affordable choice of wagon. This 5-speed, sleek-looking wagon is equipped with a powerful 2.0L DOHC Engine. Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com lists it as one of its “Top 10 Coolest New Car Under $18,000.”

“Elantra Touring is a perfect, affordable choice for the savvy consumer in the market for a quality new vehicle,” said Scott Margason, product planning director for Hyundai Motor America. “With a long list of standard convenience features along with Hyundai’s class-leading safety features, the Elantra Touring offers top-notch value in the wagon segment.”

It is equipped with steering-wheel-mounted cruise control, remote keyless entry with alarm, XM Satellite Radio and iPod/USB and auxiliary input jacks, headlight welcome function, EZ Lane Change Assist and other standard Hyundai features. It also offers comfort and space that is 10 times more than its competitors. Elantra Touring is the hatchback version of the highly successful Hyundai Elantra.
