Spy photographers have snapped up some new shots of the upcoming Hyundai i20. Code-named PB, this new Hyundai will slot in between successful i10 and i30 models.

There are obvious similarities with the bigger i30 at the front, as the i20’s grille features a single horizontal bar. The newcomer also has large Yaris-style headlights. These define the shape of the lower air intake, while circular fog lamps create a sporty look. At the back, theres an upright tailgate, so buyers can expect plenty of room for their luggage.

Power is expected to come from a variety of petrol and diesel engines. A new 1.2-litre petrol engine will spearhead the line-up, while a revised version of the firm’s existing 1.4 unit will also be offered. Diesel power will come from the current 1.5-litre Crdi. Expect to see the power ratings ranging between 70 and 122 hp!

We expect the i20 to officially take off with an unveil in September at the Paris Motor Show. It should go on sale later this year as a 2009 model year.

I wish I could show it to you now!!! :)
Hyundai always keep their cars camouflaged till last and when their prototypes are caught you hardly see any details.
No doubt, there’ll be more and more spy shots and I hope we get to know the shape of this exciting Hyundai mini car.
